DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Concept Design Workshop\, an open-house style event to share updates about the new Multigenerational Center and gather feedback from the community to help shape the design and programming of this new facility. This is a drop-in event\, so come when you can and stay for as long as you are able. Registration is requested to ensure adequate staffing and materials\, and the ability to prepare and provide any requested attendee accommodations. If you require translation/interpretation services or other accommodations\, please complete the question at the end of the registration process. SUMMARY:Women and Children on the Underground Railroad
DESCRIPTION:Historian Dionne Patterson will discuss the history of the Underground Railroad through the lens of women’s experiences. Ms. Patterson is the founder of URGDay3 and author of several children’s books about the Underground Railroad. She has published multiple articles about the resilience\, survival\, and ingenuity of many Underground Railroad “travelers” who sought freedom from enslavement. This virtual lecture will be conducted using Microsoft Teams.
