SUMMARY:We Call the Earth Our Mother: Stories of Thanks with Dovie Thomason
DESCRIPTION:This performance is part of our Education on Stage/Field Trip Series and is recommended for children in PreK-Grade 5. Renowned storyteller and cultural educator Dovie Thomason presents a special on-stage educational performance celebrating Native American Heritage Month. As we prepare for Thanksgiving\, Stories of Thanks shares the tales of many cultures explaining the original “whys” of the world\, as science does now. The imagery and values in the stories from Dovie’s Native ancestry pair the “whys” of science with the very contemporary “hows” of living in balance on our shared Earth. This enriching experience supports learning through the arts while inspiring students to listen deeply\, celebrate heritage\, and appreciate the power of stories passed down through generations.  \n\n\n\nPlease note\, everyone must have a ticket to enter\, regardless of age. Groups of 20+ can call 301-277-1710 for Group Sales or fill out the online request form.  \n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Tue.\, Nov. 17\, 10 am Tickets\n \n \n Tue.\, Nov. 17\, 11:15 am Tickets
