Park Police Trailer Removal

The trailer that was intended to be occupied by the M-NCPPC Park Police as a temporary police substation at the overflow parking lot along Walker Mill Road was removed due to challenges in obtaining permits to meet the county’s recently updated building codes. As such, the Park Police were not able to occupy the trailer and it was subsequently removed from the park.

Future improvements to the safety and security of Walker Mill Regional Park are being evaluated through the master development planning process. The draft plan includes recommendations on how and where best to accommodate a Park Police presence in a permanent structure within the park, and recommendations on how to utilize the area where the trailer was originally installed. For more information on the Walker Mill Regional Park Master Development Plan recommendations, review the presentation from the December 9, 2021 community meeting.
