Turkeyball Shootout

TurkeyBowlShootoutPark Police's annual Turkeyball Skills Challenge is a round-robin basketball shootout that provides opportunities for youth to compete for turkeys. Park Police hosted the 4th Annual Turkeyball Skills Challenge at Bladensburg, Oakcrest and Glassmanor Community Centers in late 2012 and partnered with the Andray Blatche Foundation, which provided a turkey to every child who participated in the events. One hundred fifty (150) turkeys were distributed and NBA  basketball player Andray Blatche spoke about the importance of staying in school and performing at one's best. He signed autographs and appeared in a group photo with the winners at the end of the competition.
